Press Play 😀Welcome to some shots of my epic Coney Island Day Tripping Experience!!!
Right off the D Train for the first time ever, I ended up on a glorious day at Coney Island. I know it’s quite shameful of me as a native NYer not to have ever been here before now. The iconic Nathan’s Famous Franks was staring me in the face directly across the street.
I had to say I laughed my ass off looking at the reactions on people’s faces who watched the hot dog eating contest here on TV weeks prior. Many turned their faces away and said they were sick to their stomachs looking on at the gorgers on stage stuffing their faces with hotdogs. I merely laughed hysterically.
In the near distance I spotted the beginnings of the Coney Island Amusement Park and boardwalk.
I haven’t been on a Ferris wheel in many moons and on this day the streak wouldn’t be broken.
I can just imagine how sick my stomach would feel going on that loop d loop in the background. Great adventures had better look out. Coney Island isn’t playing.
Amazing art on public display.
When I was a kid I wished that I had one of these. As an adult I still wish I had one of these albeit custom and tricked out. 😉
Looks like so much fun. Next time here I’m getting into one of these.
Later Gator!
Next coaster in view was the Soarin’ Eagle Coaster. It looked crazy as the riders lay horizontal on this twisty turning, topsy turvy monster of a coaster. The ride starts by spiraling riders slowly up to the apex of the ride from the far right side and then sends them hurtling on their way spinning upside down and sideways throughout the ride.
The screams of fear and delight filled the air as the coaster zoomed by on it’s tracks. Check out the videos below.

The Wonder Wheel looks enormous! Ask me if I’m gonna get on that ride. It ain’t gonna happen capn!
Kite Flying was also on full display with brilliant colors!
Who doesn’t love kites?
Walking down the boardwalk I looked at the beach as the heat began to get to me just a bit. I came to rest at a frozen slushy stand and ice cream bar that also serves moderately cold bottled beer but no hard alcohol.
For that I’d have to venture back in the opposite direction from whence I came to get the real deal. i could swear the way the employee filled that cone with ice cream she was trained well in the art of seducing the eyes of the customer for the oh so good cold ice cream. Just look at the following.
Good God the unfolding of swirled vanilla and chocolate!
The understanding of the balance between the two…
In conclusion your honor with this cold hard evidence we find the defendant guilty of tantalizing unmercifully.
And with that I took off for frozen drinks with alcohol in em’.
The birds came flocking for waffle fries as I strolled by and I was lucky enough to capture this scene unfolding through my wide angle fish eye lens.

Lastly as the clouds began to cover the sun in the background I prepared to end my day trip and head back to the city. Hope you enjoyed My Big Fat Epic: Coney Island Day Tripping. Coney Island I shalt return and this time rides will be conquered…Oh Yesss!!! 😀
